Sichuan is the Chinese region of Panda, Spicy Food, the biggest Buddha in the world, modern and ancient Chinese architecture, amazing history and the most friendly Chinese people!
Sichuan is a province in southwest China occupying most of the Sichuan Basin and the easternmost part of the Tibetan Plateau. Sichuan's capital city is Chengdu.

Sichuan is the region of friendly Chinese people. My friend from the capital of Sichuan, Chengdu says that Sichuanian people are the most friendly people of China. Probably she is right! Everybody was smiling at us and was ready to help us with everything.

There is so many things to do there. So let’s have a look at the most interesting, special and typical ones.
Meet Panda Bears


In the city of Chengdu there is the Chengdu Research Base Of Giant Panda Breeding. That’s the place that illustrate the natural habitat of Giant Pandas. You can also see the small pandas that has just been born in the incubators. Omg they are so cute!
There is also a Chengdu Panda Rescue Center Volunteer and Dujiangyan Panda Base where you can volunteer and spend the whole day taking care of Giant Pandas. That must be an unforgettable experience.
Try spicy cuisine

Sichuan region is well known for its spicy cuisine, so if you like spicy you have to try Hot Pot. Hot Pot is also one of the most interesting Chinese dish and Hot Pot Restaurant are very popular in Sichuan region! But be aware that you will be the one who would have to cook it on your table! To kill the spicy toast with the traditional Chinese rice vodka 52%!! And cheers saying Gambei!

Try 串串
Less known but very typical of the Sichuan Region. That time you also would need to cook it by yourself but would be easier! Just choose the stick with your favorite food or something new you want to try and put into the cooking souse. And drink soya milk that accompanies perfectly the spicy 串串. O my God.. it’s so spicy and delicious!

Just eat everything and everywhere! There is so much to try and the food is so cheap! Trust me you won’t regret it! And don’t forget to try Mapo Tofu.
Admire breathtaking Leshan Giant Buddha

Don’t forget about visiting the biggest sculpture of Buddha in the world. That masterpiece is in the city of Leshan and will amaze you with its majestic look and the high of Buddha. It is a 71-metre tall stone statue that was carved out of a cliff.
It’s just unbelievable how much time it has survived in between the mountains.

Try your luck with traditional Chinese lollipop roulette

Since my friend was a little girl she loves this traditional game! When she showed me it I just fell in love with that game so probably you would be the next fallen one!
Try your luck with the Chinese roulette and see which animal you draw. Everybody wants to get the Dragon! The Chinese symbol of Dragon means Lucky! And the lollipop of the dragon is the biggest one, so I guess that would be the other reason! The animal you draw would be immediately prepare by the lollipop artist! And it’s amazing to see the art that he perform while preparing the lollipop for you. Try your luck and then try traditional Chinese lollipop!
See the Luodai Ancient Town of Chengdu and take a walk through the Jinli Pedestrian Street

Ancient Town of Chengdu with the Jinli Pedestrian Street is the amazing place to admire the traditional Chinese architecture. Just walk around and you would be amazed by the number of interesting and unbelievable things to see and do there. It is a place with tons of original and traditional, handmade shops, great bars and restaurants, street art and great music. And everything is lighted by the Chinese lampions. Just let yourself travel in time to the Ancient Chinese Times.
Visit the People’s Park during the Marriage Market and maybe find yourself a wife or a husband


First hear about the Marriage Market? So imagine that is traditional Chinese version of Tinder. Grandmothers who are afraid that their niece would not find a husband and would stay alone forever want to take the matters into their’s own hands and help them.
So they gather in the park every week with the detailed description of their niece and the present for the man that would decide for their niece.
Dance with Chinese people in the park


However you can dance anywhere in China, dancing in the Sichuan’s park would help you to get to know or understand the most friendly Chinese people and it is so funny at the same time!

If you are not interested in dancing, just take a walk and look at the people how they dance, how they play games and cards, it’s a great way to find about their everyday life. And the parks are so beautiful!!
Visit Wuhou Temple

Also known as Memorial Temple of Marquis Wu is the most important temple of Chengdu city. It memorizes Zhuge Liang who was the personification of noble character and intelligence. It was built in 3rd century during Kingdoms Period - one of the most important history period of Sichuan.
The temple is amazing and you can learn here very important lesson of China history. You can also get amazed by the incredibly architecture of the Ancient China.
